My neice is getting an american girl doll for her birthday next month.I would like to make her some clothes for her doll,and can't find any patterns.Help!I want to be her favorite Aunt!!! thankyou, Leslie

A friend just sent me this link. There a free pattern for a sweater and then she has a dress and shrug pattern for sale.

You can also use patterns for other dolls or even premies. Adjust the size of your hook to fit. Also, if the pattern calls for thread, use yarn & change hook size to increase the size. If the pattern calls for yarn & is for babies, use thread or a smaller type yarn and smaller hook. All things are possible with enough sizes of hooks & yarn. So in essence:
If the pattern is larger than your doll: decrease yarn & hook
If the pattern is smaller than your doll: increase yarn & hook

Thankyou for letting me know how to change the patterns to fit different dolls or babies.I just crochet things for my neighbor's baby and my sister's dd that still play with dolls.

Well after seeing what Darski has done with her Dora doll, I am thinking we should all pitch in and get her an American Girl doll and have her design us clothes :eek , think she would go for that? :hook
