I am curious if anyone knows where to find patterns for the characters from "Spongebob Squarepants." I have seen a crocheted Spongebob but have not been able to find any patterns. Any help is appreciated!

Here are a hat and mitts set....no pattern but it looks very straight forward, just sc in a square shape changing colors then sewing it together and doing the face etc.

even the idea of the pillow is cute! She has a pattern available for a Sponge Buddy purse, but you have to have an MSN /Hotmail account to get it, and I do not....perhaps you do?

SpongeBob is a trademarked character. In order for patterns to be distributed featuring his likeness, the designer/publisher needs to make licensing arrangements (usually expensive) or receive other permission from the trademark holder to distribute patterns featuring his likeness.

Because licensing arrangements are usually expensive to obtain, you don't see many published patterns for trademarked characters. Leisure Arts has published some, but I'm not sure of any for SpongeBob.

Everyone, please remember it is a violation of our forum guidelines to provide links to sites that have patterns of trademarked characters available, if those sites do not mention they have a licensing arrangement in place or that they have some other permission from the trademark holder.

If you know of a published pattern leaflet or book that features a properly licensed SpongeBob pattern, you are welcome to post that information.

If you're not sure whether something you want to post fits with our guidelines, please just let me know. I'll be happy to let you know for sure one way or the other.
