I made yet another ripple blankie in happy bright colors...for a home-wanting pet at Humane Society. I love making these. Have posted others in the Ripple-along, but thought I'd post this one here in case some don't check the "along" boards.

I'm also anxiously awaiting a little felted bag to dry and post pics,..hope by tomorrow it's dry enough to use and photo.

I think that's sweet to give each pet their own little beddy-bye blanky. :)h

i am amazed at how quickly you whip those out! they are so cute.
question: does the shelter keep them, or do they go to the home when the dog is adopted? no reason, just wondering.

our sherlter doesn't accept blankies for the critters :(

Very cute! I've wanted to try that pattern out too. Now that I've done the Little Star, I think I may have to give that one a whirl.... it looks very similar to me.

Wow bright colors in there!! How on earth do you get them done so quickly? What hook are you using - are you using a double strand? That same blanket would take me a few days, lol!

Rebecca - One of the pet rescue shelters always sends the blankie home with the pet when it's adopted, like a peace of comfort for them which they feel may help them in their transition to their new home. I'm lucky that I found 2 rescue places that have the laundry facilities for that. I'm not sure if the others keep the blankies for newly rescued animals. It gives me an insurmountable joy to do this...I think that's what spurs me in the fast crocheting of them. Lily Chin move over, LOL

Faith - I use a 5.5mm hook, just 1 strand of worsted weight. I am a pretty fast crocheter,...must have good hand/brain co-ordination too cause I type almost 100 w.p.m. too.

Marvie - I was thinking the same about the star afghan...that I'll have to try that pattern soon.

:heart thanks all

That is such a wonderful idea, to make blankets for these shelter animals! What a sweet thing you are doing, and this blankie is lovely.
