:hi
I meant her BOOK :D! thong! Here is my version. This is a great pattern and works up so quick! I shortened mine so I only chained about 110. I added a store bought tassel.

p.s, please don't kick my butt
for the play on words, Donna :hug

I think I am going to add some sort of beaded dangle above the tassel on future attempts... I always have to tweak! LOL!

What sort of thread do you use for these? Is there a pattern?... I probably can figure out how to do it somewhat by looks... but how about hook size? My brain is on minimum function these days...

<span style="font-family:comic sans ms; color:purple;">Very very nice! I <img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/heartpump.gif" /> bookmarks of any sort and the book thong I was ROAK'd with now resides in whatever current book I'm reading. I think I'm going to start making these for friends. The few fully crocheted ones I've made make people nervous I think...my mom said "What? Put those in books and let them get all wrinkly?" lol.</span>

Wow, wow! Those are beautiful, Dawn and Suebee! :wow I'm so impressed!

Lea, my pattern is here: Book Thong (http://crochetme.com/Feb_Mar_2005/patt_book_thong.html).

LOL, Dawn, no prob with the play on words! :lol I probably shouldn't say this, but I will... I had considered it calling the pattern Blue Moon Book Thong, partially because the beads were blue but also for the play on words. I kill myself, LOL!!! :rollin :rollin :rollin

I've jumped on the bandwagon and made 4 so far <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/bounce012.gif" />

I have to do the finish work on 3 of them, so pictures will be coming later. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/photos.gif" />

Let me tell you though, I tried to do one with black thread....big mistake!!!! I've never had a problem seeing stiches and such, but that sucker was impossible! The chain was no problem, the slip stitches were another story entirely. I had to frog it. I might try again tomorrow in natural light, I have some beads that would look awesome with the black.

I plan on making these for gifts too. I just need to go and get the beads. I have the thread in all different colors. It should be interesting to mix & match beads with it.

You all did such great jobs with yours. I only hope that mine will turn out just as well!

Hmmm, that sounded more melodic in my head.

Anyway, let's see if my first attempt at thumbnailing works

Answer...no... so here's a regular picture
<img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v201/ilexmi/bookthongs.jpg" />

I'll try figuring out the thumbnailing tomorrow.

Those all look great Holly! I like the red one (second from the right) the best. That teardrop bead is cool.
