I love the look of beads in crochet, but I've never worked with them before. Anyone have a suggestion for a good first pattern to learn the technique? I was thinking a coin purse maybe.
Thanks for your help!

Make a small coaster type of pattern but use thread and your beads and make it a doily..to put under your figureines.

Hi,
I am not an expert, but I do work with beads sometimes. I started using beads on trims, just on the edge(when you do the last row). It is easy and looks good too.

There's a pretty choker/necklace pattern here: http://www.hookmeupcrochet.com/Create/Patterns/beaded_choker.htm
It works up quickly, using thread and seed beads. DD loved it and requested another right away.

Other ideas or links to patterns? I'd like to try this again and need a simple beginner pattern.
Thanks!

I am going to try adding some beads to simple snowflakes, my first beading adventure. I got a book a while back for hats, and the one on the cover has a bead every so often and looks amazing, so I have to start somewhere to get to making the hat. And I figure the anowflakes will glisten when hanging on the tree with the beads added.

I have tried this and it is very easy and works up pretty! I like it because you are using bigger beads so you get the hang of it..She also gives you pictures to see how you work it!
