I've been inspired!!!
And have also decided that this is the perfect opportunity to learn more exciting stitches.:)

They look great!!! Can't wait to see more... I have not tried freeform yet. But have enjoyed seeing pictures of others work.

Have you made any more progress on your blanket? I'd love to see how it's looking now!

the colors are pretty, but i just can't seem accept free-form... i need straight lines, maybe i'm a control freak... I'm very curious to see the finished project. the piece on the right looks like a cloud merged with an angels wing... very pretty.

I think I must be a control freak too! I like random colors, but in a bit more organized form! So would it be considered free form if I just start with a square or rectange, and keep working off the sides? Sort of like a log cabin, but not the same number of rows for each color. Oh, and I could do different stitches too. Hmm, gotta think about this! I really, really like some of the free forms I've seen on line that look like a garden of flowers. I've tried to do that, but it didn't work out for me.
