My cousin is a new grandpa and he wants Paige to have a special blankie for his house.

They are the 'Fluffernutters' He's the peanut butter and she's the fluff (marshmallow goo).

Soooooooooo - he wants the blanket in those colors!

soft white for the bread
lt brown for the peanut butter
and bight white for the fluff

He's also hoping that I can put "Peanut Butter & Fluff" in the blanket.

I drew out the graph to filet the center with the words but it's too open.

HELP - my brain in freeze mode.

Hi!

Would you like to try my starghan pattern for your soon to be little one? It looks great with multiple colors and is real simple to do!!

You can also join my Starghan CAL to see what we've been up to with our starghans!

I've done a baby afghan in a filet style stitch. I say 'style' because I, too, found filet too open. So, instead of one square=4 sts, I did one square=3 sts. Open squares were then: 1dc in dc, ch1, sk1 st, dc in next st, closed were 1dc in dc, 1dc in next ch or dc, dc in next dc. You could try that with your design.
A picture is on my afghans page, it's the Angels Watch Over afghan (http://www.crochetsal.com/afghans.html).
I know, not typical baby colours...it was made for my niece who wanted bright colours. She got 'em!

You don't have to filet your afghan at all. Change it to colors. It will be solid like this:

You can even get it personalized with the "name" you want.
If you want to try it on your own, there are many examples in the show and tell and lots of thread about how to do it her on the boards. :)
