Thanks, everybody!
I really enjoyed working on this bag, made as it was
from a several-years-old collection of fibers, including
bamboo, soy, and wools from various corners of the globe :).

After trying to actually use the bag, I realize it needs a lining
of some kind....thinking of plain silk in an ivory or brown. Any thoughts?

:tyThank you all for suggestions re: lining the bag...I'm going with
brown silk and will post an update picture when it's done.

Meanwhile, Prudence Mapstone (http://knotjustknitting.com)has signed on as instructor for
our Fiber Cruise in July right after the Chain Link conference. She'll be teaching freeform crochet AND knitting skills.

I like your bag! And a brown lining will not show the dirt that a bag accumulates as quickly as a cream lining would.

Wow! How lovely! I love the very different stitches you used. It all came together so nicely, too.
As far as lining, I think the plain silk in a mocha or maybe a satin in the same color would be great.

Thanks for the supportive comments, everyone.
I have to say that meeting Prudence Mapstone
on our Bermuda cruise this summer really expanded
my range of thought on freeform.
Her books are well worth purchasing, for both basic instruction
and imaginative examples of truly museum-quality work:

We hope to have Prudence as instructor on a cruise of Alaska's
Inside Passage next July - more information later.

I mentioned in October that Australian fiber genius Prudence Mapstone might act as instructor on another Freeform Fest cruise.
We now have group space blocked on the Star Princess, sailing roundtrip
from Seattle July 6-13, 2008, to Alaska's Inside Passage and Victoria, B.C.

Freeform Fest 2008 will feature freeform crochet workshops by Prudence, a trunk show, book signing party, visits to local yarn shops
while in port, and gifts and amenities for all participants.

Families, spouses and non-crocheters/friends are welcome.
You must book your stateroom with a deposit by February 15,
with full payment by April 1, 2008. Space is limited so that
Prudence can offer personal instruction to participants.

A great opportunity! Read more about the cruise here. (http://fastnettravel.com/cruises/alaska2008/index.php)
