I taught my 16 year old stepdaughter to crochet yeasterday and she made this bag. We made up the pattern. She had a hole near one end so she used my embellishment contraption and made a button, to match the strap.
I am so proud of her, as we don't always get along very well as she has some behavioral problems. She was so calm and well behaved all day as she crocheted. :)h

How wonderful! I love the colors! so cute!

You know... crocheting seems to help my behavioral problems too. :wink BUT... it causes some OTHER problems instead. :D!

That's a beautiful bag. She did a great job on it. Maybe crochet is the thing that will bring you closer together.

I passed along your comments to her, she was pleased. She used Boa yarn along with a grey worsted weight yarn that blends right in, but makes it infinitely easier to work with. I don't know if she will do it at home. Her mom has crocheted for years, mostly thread. So she was interested in making something fast and teen like.

I know I liked it when my mom taught me how to crochet! I was very excited! She did an awesome job!
