Not dumb. :) Blog is short for web log. It's an online journal. Like keeping a diary, only available for everyone to see on the web.

And in our case, we're usually referring to ones where we do nothing but blab on about yarn and hooks and crocheting. And we love it! <img border=0 src="http://members.aol.com/dustkittys/jumpy.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://members.aol.com/dustkittys/clap.gif" /><img border=0 src="http://members.aol.com/dustkittys/woohoo.gif" />

You can put whatever you want. You could write about or post some pics of projects you've been doing, neat crochet stuff you have seen/bought, etc. You can go to my Crochet Blogs (http://www.ringsurf.com/netring?action=list&ring=crochetblogs) web ring and check out some of the sites there to see what people write about.
To get an icon near you name on the board, go to the main Crochetville page. At the top, click on My Control Center. Then click on Account Preferences. Under Posting & Messaging, put a check next to the box that says Use Personal Icon or URL. You have to have a pic uploaded to the internet somewhere. You can do that for free at photobucket.com (http://photobucket.com) if you do not have space elsewhere. If you don't have a pic you want to use, you can search Google for avatars, there are a lot of free ones out there. The pic should be 60 x 60 pixels (if it's bigger, ezboard will shrink it down to that size). Does that all make sense?

Ok, have you been doing it the following way?
In photobucket, where it gives you the Url, Tag, and Img stuff, copy everything from the Url box. Paste this in the Use Personal Icon or URL box in your ezboard account preferences.
Let me know if it still doesn't work.

I can see the image when I go to that url. I think it might be because it's a bmp. Might have to be jpg or gif. Can you convert it to one of those?

You actually have to go into 'edit profile' and then the first line says 'my photo'. Enter the url there. It took me forever to find it too.

I'm pretty sure the My Photo thing is for the photo on your profile -- ya know, when you click on the user name and get the litttle box that has your ezboard profile. And that the Personal Icon thing is for what you show on each post you make.

It was the only way I could get mine to work - granted, I have the url in both windows. I couldn't figure out any other way.

Julie, you are so right! I just tried removing the "My Photo" from my profile and posting, and sure enough, I had no icon by my post! :eek
Would be nice if ezboard was a bit clearer about that, huh? Or if things worked like the instructions say... :rolleyes
