I made this for my sister-in-law, as a "just because" kind of gift. She got a new iPod for Christmas from her boyfriend and she was moaning that she couldn't find any of the iPod "socks" for it. And I just happened to have the perfect thread for her iPod - it's BLUE!:D

I got the actual dimensions of the iPod online (thank god for Argos (http://www.argos.co.uk/)!! :lol). It's made from Aunt Lydia's crochet thread, size 10, varigieted color "Ocean".

I just finished it earlier this afternoon, so Vicci (SIL) hasn't even seen it yet. But I really like it - it looks SOOOO much better in thread than it would in yarn, methinks. And the thread has a slight sheen to it, too, which gives it an added "oomph." A slight "wow factor," if you will.;)

I also wanted to ask a question. If you saw something like this on Etsy, would you buy it? I was thinking of maybe making a few of these and attempting to sell them, but I wanted to get some "expert" opinions first.:devil

Thanks for looking! :hook

Oooooh, it is beautiful! I love the thread color and the design. My mp3 player gets chucked into my bag along with everything under the sun so I know I would like it to close somehow so it didn't slip out. I do like the strap you have on it as it is so perfect for walking or riding on the train.

i think it turned out great! I bet she loves it! As far as etsy goes, I don't know, I'm not experienced in what will and won't sell.

That looks really pretty, I especially like the 2 different textures/stitches-way better than what one can buy ready made!

I'll just bet they would sell. I know I'd buy one!!!!

Now of course since you gave me the idea I will "profit" from your cleverness and make one of my own. - - - Hope you don't mind my copying you.

Not at all! Glad to be of inspiration! ;)

And thanks to the rest of you for your kind comments. My brain has gone into overdrive now... I'm thinking of iPod cosies, cell phone cosies, small wristlet-type purses... all made from thread. :lol It's a good thing I've already got 2 1/2 balls of thread to work with! I think I'll make 1 or 2 of each to put up on Etsy and see where it goes from there. If they're popular, then I can get more thread and make more. If not... well, then I haven't wasted too much on supplies! :yes

I'm thinking I have to make something for myself out of this thread first, though. I just love this color scheme - blue is my favorite color.:D And since I had to order this stuff online from the US... I'm not likely to find anything like it out here - if I can find thread at all.

Thanks again for the kudos, ladies... I feel a little more confident now.:hook
