I'm trying to do the crazy stitch: http://crochet.about.com/library/blcrazyst.htm but it leaves sooo many holes! I'm trying to copy this purse: http://www.stephaniesyjuco.com/chanel_brown_purse.html and the holes are barely there when you look at the close up of the stitches. How can I make my crazy stitch less hole-y? I'm using WW yarn and a H hook.

I've never actually tried this one before, but I'm thinking maybe switch to a smaller hook? :think

I could be wrong, but it's worth a try! :hook

Hi Lady Twilyte. I may be wrong, but I think the photo of the bag is deceiving. The photo of the stitch on About does look fairly hole-y. I have been experimenting with some similar stitches and they all are very hole-y in reality even though some of the photos accompanying the pattern directions I'm using do not show the holes. If I do find something more solid I will let you know.

:cheer Maybe you can do CH2 instead of CH3, then when you do the stitches onto the space these CH make, the gap will be smaller.
I think a smaller hook will also help but you will need to use more stitches to start, to get the measurements you want.
Lining the bag will also be a good idea so the holes will not matter.

:hook What about using a different stitch such as the Shell Pattern which gives an overall effect, like the Crazy Stitch, but is more closed.

I can give you instructions if you need them.
Have fun.

I know the directions say to try 3dc's instead of 2. I would definetly use a smaller hook for a tighter stitch.

I took a good look at the pic of the purse.I see plenty of holes. The yarn seems to be a bit fuzzy and that might be making it look less holey to you, but upon close examiniation, the holes are there. I think the regular crazy stitch will work just fine.
