How To Sew Name On Baby Croched Afghan?

Hi All - I just finished a light blue croched baby blanket for a friend, using single, double and ribbed stitches. How can I sew the baby's name on the blanket? I bought some pretty ribbon, but haven't figured out how to to it! Any advice would be helpful! Or any ideas other than ribbon, also.

If you have enough single crochet rows together you could cross stitch or embroidery the name on.
