There seem to be a lot of people who need a lil help with using Photobucket to host their images. Words can get confusing, so I have made a step by step pictorial guide to making clickable images like these. Please look for the pink pointer to help you see what I am refering to :) goodluck!

I have chosen to show you how tomake clickable images so you DO NOT have to resize your photos. They will be little images like these you see here until people click them, opening a new browser and showing your pics at full size. Be warned, if you later move your images into folders within Photobucket it WILL break all your links and make your images littl red x's.

Step 1. Click "uploading options" to set a max size for your pictures. A good size is 15" screens
Step 2. Click "browse" to locate the file on your computer

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/th_step2.jpg (http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/step2.jpg)
Clicking browse in step 2 will bring up a box like this. You need to locate the file on your computer which contains the picture you want to host on Photobucket
Step 3. Click the photo, it will get a blue box about it as you can see
Step 4. Click "open"

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/th_step3.jpg (http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/step3.jpg)
After clicking open in step 4 you should see the file name of your picture as at the upper most arrow
Step 5. Write a name for your photo if you wish (optional)
Step 6. Once you have made sure this is the photo you want and have written the picture name click "upload"

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/th_step4.jpg (http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/step4.jpg)
It is important to let Photobucket load the picture. When it is done you should see the yellow bar stating "images uploaded!". This is your assurance that Photobucket is finished and your photo is now within their site. Until you see this please be patient and wait, or you may interrupt the upload.

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/th_step5.jpg (http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/step5.jpg)
Scroll down the page and find your photo.
Step 7. Click the little box under your picture as indicated. This will make a red box appear around your pic alerting you that you are selecting that picture (you can click more than one little box if you want multiple pictures).

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/th_step6.jpg (http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/step6.jpg)
Step 8. Scroll right to the bottom of the page and click "Generate HTML and IMG codes". This will take you to a new page.

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/th_step7.jpg (http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i27/michellesangel/how%20to%20add%20pics%20at%20Crochetville/step7.jpg)
This bit is important. If you don't click the right box your photos may not work.
Step 9. Click inside the box labelled "IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended". As you click it the whole thing will highlight and a little message will show up at the side saying "copied"

Now come back to Crochetville and paste this into your post (the shortcut for paste is to press "ctrl+v" at the same time). You may like to "preview post" before submitting to ensure the photos are going to appear correctly. I hope this helps!

**If you find any errors or that I have omitted a step, or it simply isn't clear please let me know :) My aim is to help, not confuse you more!! There are other photo hosting sites you can use, this is just one of them, and the one I know how to use.

Hi Margi
As this isn't my photo bucket account, when I view it there is no little box under the photo to click!! I can copy all your URL Link, HTML Tag, IMG Code's but these aren't the ones you need to make a clickable photo. You need to mark the little box under the photo you want then at the bottom of the page click "generate HTML and IMG code". You want the one that says "IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended". Using any other code will not creat a clickable thumbnail.

Without being able to stand behind you and personally walk you through it, the best I could do is my guide with pics, which I have already done. I am sorry I don't know how to help you. Perhaps someone else has some suggestions :)

Good luck!

Margi, I just went to the scratch pad to see your link. I think I see the problem. It looks like you are putting the wrong link (code) in there. Once you decide which picture you want to post, click on the little box under the picture. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the box to generate HTML and IMG code. Once you have the codes, copy the third box of code (it is titled IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended). Once copied, paste it into your message box here and it is done. You can then preview your message before you post it to make sure the picture shows up. It will remain a code until you preview it or post it.

I think you were clicking on the second box, not the third one.

Hope that helps you!

I have a quick add on that I found to be true in Photobucket. If the picture name is too long. It may not post like on ebay or some other sites you use HTML in also!

Hi Shell,
I've been trying to post pictures here at Crochetville for the longest time and I found your post in FAQ and followed it and I don't know what I'm doing wrong but its not working. I do everything you say to do and I get the highlighted box that says Img clickable for message boards and I click inside the box and it says copied then when I come back to post it in my message it puts all the codes in and not the picture. Once I got it to put the picture in but it had a red X through it, another time I got the picture when I went to preview post but it wasn't clickable. Do you think you can tell me what I'm doing wrong, I would really appreciate it.

You will see the codes and not the picture - once you save it then you will see the picture -
