I made this sometime ago then forgot all about it....I got the idea from groovy crochet site but didn't like the flowers there so I looked for some flower patterns on the net. :))

Thanks! I've used it only once. It's really a nice bag as the flowers really show up because of the black background. I used plastic canvass to line it but the handles stretches when I use it. I guess I should have used thicker yarn for it, huh? I'll just use this bag as crochet carry-along. :hook

Thanks, Anna, Fiona, Julie!!!! :D
I did the flower swap....if I didn't forget all about this bag I might have sent it to 1 of my partners....heheh!!!!

Jackie (and ladies):

here is a tip for handles that won't stretch (are you ready)

after you crochet the handles the length you want them, get some grogain (sp) ribbon the same or similar color and sew it to the under side of the handle and then tack it to your bag. The ribbon is strong and won't stretch so your strap retains it's shape.

Hope it helps some of you. I thought it was genius when I read it in some book.

oh, that bag is so pretty. I hope you can try this tip and get some more use out of it--it's to pretty not to show off!!

Love it. Makes me want to switch to thread. :hook Alas... I still have lots of yarn to use up BEFORE I go thread shopping. :D

Thanks, Heather!

The original patterns called for using yarn instead of thread. I just used thread because it's the only thing I have. Go try it with yarn....I think it won't stretch as much when you use it.
