What is the brand name? I can keep an eye out for it. I don't really speak german just live here:blush . Cotton is baumwolle though so three olives is right.

3 Martini is right about it being cotton...baumwolle is cotton...hakelen is the German word for crochet...stricken is the word for knitting...

Yeah, I don't have a key with the 2 dots (which is known as "umlaut" (I think that's how it's spelled...) so normally without the 2 dots or umlaut you'd spell the words "haekelgarn" (you'd add an "e" after the letter that has an umlaut...anyway...the most important words here are strick und haekelgarn (knitting and crocheting) baumwoole (cotton) mit nylonfaden (with nylon) verstarkt is "strength" Mercerisiert schweizer-qualitatsproduct, Mercerdised (not sure what schweiser is) quality product...

If you can tell us the brand name and the color number (color is farbe in German) I might be able to track some down for you...

I think Schweizer is the brand or company name.On the label it has art.84022.Would that be the color?Itis kind of a coppery color. With my luck they probably went out of business. This is the best stuff. It drapes perfectly.I want more.I don't even care what color. If you see it anywhere i'd love a heads up.Thanks

My MOMS Club friend from Germany tells me:

Weda (I assume must be the Brand name) pearl knitting and crocheting yarn.
combed cotton reenforced with nylonstring . mercerized Swizz quality product.
I hope that helps. Good luck!

I also hope that helps you to find your thread.

Hi! Living here in Germany and I have to re-inforce that "schweizer" just means Swiss, it's not the brand name. Weda is the brandname. I can try looking in the local yarn shop for the yarn (or at least ask about it) if you'd like.

Hi Christine,

I'll look tomorrow when I'm out shopping. Any idea the color or color number? Without that I could just tell you whether I find the Weda brand or not...

Hi Christy -

I was in a yarn store & the yarn section of a department store here this weekend & didn't see the Weda yarn. I'll ask the other yarn store this week about it.
