I was looking at bookmarkers on the Central Pattern place. I found a really pretty cross pattern that I would like to try, but it called for Cotton #20 cotton string. The string looks a little (fuzzy?). Does any one know where I might purchase this string?

Can you post the url to the bookmark you are looking at? Maybe if we see it, someone can help you better.

Is it this one (http://www.crochetpartners.org/Patterns/CPpat17.html)? It looks like metallic crochet thread.

Donna - That's the one!!! What do you think about the thread? And where would I find it? Are you thinking of doing this pattern?

I know very little about thread as I'm just starting to use it myself. I have seen metallic thread something like that at Walmart. Don't know if it was size 20, though. And I'm not sure if they still have it since the big yarn changes at Walmart. :thinking2 If not, maybe Michaels or some place like that.
I'm not planning on doing the pattern, but you said it was on Crochet Pattern Central and I knew there could only be so many cross bookmarks there, so I just checked. :fluffy

south maid is #10 and a little heavier than #20~
I use it for bookmarks and tablecloths

You can use any kind of thread for it.. Just because the pattern calls for that kind of thread doesnt mean you have to use it.. You can use a size 10 and different hook..
