Those are so cute!!
My advice, what I usually do if it's for someone I can size easily is I size as I go! Usually for something like a poncho, if you get the starting chain the right size, the rest should be easy and is just pattern repetition - mostly. :)

well what i do .. and its probably cheating .. if i need it just a little larger i use a larger hook and a larger yarn than they suggest ..or i just add here and there its random
if i have the person handy that i need to fit that is the best cause then i fit as i go but usually that isnt the case i just have measurements and i try to get it with in those.. i know this isnt really helpful.. there is method to my maddness.. but i suppose it really only makes sense to me ! LOL

I've been working on the crocheted capelet. I fell in love with it when I saw the photo. Although I'm not crazy about the yarn I'm using (I think a thinner ww would work better) I think it's beautiful, and so simple. If you need something lickety-split that's a good one to try.

I love that capelet. It's one of my favorite free "poncho" patterns on the web. :bounce
