My daughter is wanting a crocheted afghan to match her bedding. She wants me to stitch her initials onto the top of it, or crochet them into the afghan. Does anybody know of a pattern, or does anybody know where I can begin to look for this type of afghan?
Thanks so much!!:hook

If you want a variety of styles, you should try looking in a counted cross-stitch booklet. Letters are graphed so all you would have to do is chose which style you like. My favorit it Helvetica and Gothic. Booklets can be found at any yarn supply shoppe. your best bet would be Micheals

Here is the most AWESOME link for Monograms that I've EVER found!

http://www.freepatternsonline.com/xscharts/mono.htm

They have 2 different sets so you can choose which one you like better. If you do this in a filet it'll be BIG!

Then you can either add to the sides to make it monogram side up on the couch or add to the top and bottom to make it for a bed. Or you can do a gauge swatch and decide how many rows to do to the top and bottom before you start.

There's so many people here and about.com has the most wonderful find your starting chain for filet tuts. Then just do an elegant border and you have a gorgeous one of a kind custom blanket!

(Can you tell I love to make my own designs?)

Let us know what you decide to do and keep us posted. I'd love to see how it comes out!

This pattern has very good instructions for making the type of afghan you want.

Hi KYCrochetMom

I make baby blankets and wedding afghans and make them personal by crocheting the name on them. I usually draw out the name of graph paper and crochet it as I go along. If you go into my profile you can see an example of baby Isabella's blanket.
