I just finished a baby blanket for a lady who is going to pay me tomorrow and she wants to talk about another one. I'm sure she has no idea what type of stitch. She just wants something nice. That doesn't narrow it down by much. :think

So I come to you guys once again. Any ideas? :hug

I have looked on CPC and have not found anything that sticks out. I would like a stitch that is not to hard and that is fast. I also don't like borders. If anyone has any ideas for a baby blanket I would be very grateful. I had a hard time trying to find a pattern for the one that's done and I would like the next one to be different. I'm sure she does too.

I know you said you don't like borders, but this blanket works up really quickly and is super-cute: Hooded Baby Blanket (http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/cpl-bafg.html). It only takes one Pound of Love to make, and I think it would look just as good without the hood.

I made one for my SO's daughter. I haven't given it to her yet, because I still want to take pictures of it. If I run across any others, I'll post 'em.

Have you considered a continuous granny square with 4 rows of each of several pastel colors? I made my daughter one and she loves it. Best of luck in your choice.:)

I have done 2 of the hooded blankets for my grandbabies. Grandpa really liked it and wanted it made so that's what I did for granddaughter. She is almost 2 yrs old and still loves that blanket, she loves playing with it running around with the hood on her head. I thne had to make one in blue for our grandson when he came along. Very easy pattern, I had both whipped out in no time.

As the pattern says, this works up in about 3 hours and needs no border. It is very pretty.

I second EugeneClarence's vote for the Bubbles blanket. It's the only baby blanket I'd ever consider making again! It's so fast and no border is needed. If you make it with a varigated yarn, you don't have to switch colors. So, it will be colorful without having 1,000 ends to weave in!

nss - is that a free pattern or a paid for one? If there is a free one out there somewhere that would be great. If she doesn't want one that's round (she may want something more traditional) I think I may try it for my self later.

As for the bubbles blanket, I like that one too. It looks simple enough.
Now she isn't going to come over untill Friday. She forgot to come over today. So I can't start untill then. :( I guess I'll just have to finish the elephant I started so long ago. :lol

Keep the ideas coming untill Friday. I will let you all know which one she chooses.

I like to make the shell pattern into a baby blanket, very easy, very forgiving if you aren't paying to much attention (like watching tv while you are crocheting) and for girls I add a ruffle, for boys I just give it a round of sc. I sometimes make with with different colors or solids depending on what I have. I also like ripples (not round ones although I like them too) for baby blankets, they look more boyish to me.....Shells for girls and ripples for boys.....JMHO

First off... I want to thank everyone for helping me out with this. I want to keep all of these suggestions in mind for the future.

The lady came today to pick up the blanket that I already made, and pay for it. :D Guess what, she wants another one just the same! :lol All of that hunting for nothing.

Good news is that She wants me to make a whole bunch of bears and monkeys. Which I already have the patterns for. ;) And she wants to pay me for them all. So far she has me making 6 bears, form the Care Bear Patterns. And and 5 monkeys. Not to worry though. The majority of them are for Christmas. It looks like I am going to be busy for a while.
