Here are my super easy sewn blankets:

The method is this. When Wal Mart has their $1.00 baby blankets, buy a few. The easiest thing to do is to buy some edging and sew it around the edge. The first photo is done that way.

The second easiest is to find some scraps of fleece and cut them into 3 1/2" rectangles. Then sew the rectangles around the edge of the blanket. Then cut the rectangles into 1" strips. The second photo shows this kind.

I really like the second one. Last time I was at Walmart I almost bought a blanket with the intent of crocheting a border around it.

I like the second one also. I try to pick up a few of those blankets each month. I use them to back bibs I sew for my grandson. They hold up well in the washer/dryer and are nice and soft against his bare skin. I also cut them up to make booties and hats.

Those blankets the cheapest way to buy fleece that I've found. I wish the stores carried them all the time. We get them every once in a while.
