I am wanting to make something for my dad for his b-day in about a month. I want it to be something he would use. This is limited since he spends most of his time in a semitruck. I have made him a fleece blanket in the past so I don't think I want to make him another blanket...which he probably wouldn't want to take in the truck and get dirty anyway. The nice thing is that he would really appreciate the time and effort since he can remember his grandma knitting and finds it fasinating. Any ideas would be greatly appreiciated.

What about socks? I'm sure there are times when his feet may get cold.
How about a gymn type bag to carry things in?
Hat and scraf? It may be getting warmer, but maybe he might be somewhere cold and in the mornings in some places it's still cold (is here sometimes).
Tie, belt, slippers...
Not sure what else.

A pillow or two to snuggle with when he has a few or to support his neck when he's getting tired or even to sit on.

Does he save or use store bags? They're good for a million things like dirty clothes or shoes. Make him a bag holder if he does. Do it 'man' colors:

Does he read on the road (at stops)? How about a bookmark or two:

Thank you empress bee....you thought of things I hadn't even thought of and you went to the work of finding different patterns! Thank you so much!! Just a reminder of why I love this place! Thanks again. I am thinking of the neck pillow because he is constintly waiting in line to unload grain and such, the bookmark because I really want him to read a book he got for christmas (long story), the bug scrubbie because hey its worth a try and I know if it works I'll be making more. :)
Thanks again.
