I'm new to the fun world of granny square-making. I've had a few duds, but recently I've had a couple of successes and wanted to share with the fine people of Crochetville!
Posing with my first successful granny square:

My first successful multi-colored granny square (this one is really exciting for me!):

I'm signed up for a granny square swap for April, so it looks like I'll be able to make some pretty decent squares to send off!

I love to make grannies, I use all my scraps and make up grannies as I finish a project. Then when I get enough Iput them together for a lapghan and donate it to the hospital..... This keeps my stash from getting out of hand...
Beautiful colors and great job....aren't grannies fun

Hey guys, you sound like pros!
I have a question, though. Usually when I change colors when crocheting, I just crochet right over the ends and keep going (so as not to have any extra ends to weave in).
I don't think you can do that with a granny square because there are so many holes that the ends would be visible. So, do you just actually weave in every end separately? I hate weaving in ends!

It depends. I try to crochet in my ends as much as possible, but you're right -- with all the gaps in granny squares, I find it a little more difficult to do that. So I'll do as much as I can, and then weave the rest in with a tapestry needle later.
