I bought some hand-dyed wool at a craft show. It is very lightweight, maybe fingering or lace weight? It is variegated, with blues and purple and brown colours. I was thinking of making a very light shawl, but I'm not sure what sort of stitch to use. I'd like something open and lacy. Because of the variegation though I think it should be quite simple, but if it's too plain, I will get quite bored, especially because it will be on such a small scale.

Any suggestions?
