I know there is a cotten yarn topic already, but that's for kitchen things. I have someone who is interested in buying an afghan from me, but she wants 100% cotton yarn.
Any suggestions? What's your favorite?

If you'll be making an afghan, I would suggest buying the cones, something like peaches n cream 100% cotton or sugar n cream cotton. I havent made an afghan from cotton, but I think any 100% cotton would work well. To make it a soft afghan, use a larger hook than normal.

Amber,
I just seen a web sight for cotton yarns. It is Mountain Springs Quality Cotton Yarn. www.msn.co.in/ They might have some good ideas!

Thanks! I'll look into that.
The colors requested are plum and hunter green. (?)

Amber,
here's something that looks like it could work nicely
<a href="http://www.yarn.com/yarns-knitting/texas.html" target="_new">Webs Texas Cotton</a>
I haven't used it myself but the price seems pretty good and it says it's a worsted weight yarn.

Amber,
there are tons of different cotton yarns out there. They can be fingerling (or less!) up to super chunky. They can be coarse or baby soft. Chain craft stores and Walmart don't have a lot of options in 100% cotton. In places like those your choices are usually "kitchen" cotton like sugar'n cream which is pretty scratchy and wouldn't make a very snuggly afghan (imho). The other is Bernats Cotton Tots. This is very soft & snuggly, but not many color options and comes in small skeins so it would be a very expensive afghan as well.
Do a search on Ebay for yarn and narrow it down to the cotton subgroup. You'll get an eyeful!
Why does your customer specifically want 100% cotton? Knowing that would help you know what direction to go in.
If she'll be happy with a cotton/synthetic blend you'll have a lot more choices available.

Wow! So Bernet tots is the suggested yarn for an afghan?
I don't know why she wants that. I'll have to ask her.
Thanks for the info!

The coton tots would make a very nice afghan but you don't get many color choices. It's kind of pricy too, $3.50-$4.00 per 4 oz skein (200 yards).
Look around online, there are lots of cotton options that you could get for less.
