:blush I must admit to not being very well versed in types of yarns. I usually just buy what I can find at the local craft stores (Walmart, Michaels or Joann's). I buy what hits my fancy.

I am looking at a pattern that calls for *finger weight* yarn. Worsted weight I know. But this? I'm not so sure.

Can someone explain please? :huh

Thanks!

okay, i could be wrong ---- i'm fairly new at this too....
i think fingering weight is a little smaller than baby weight and sport weight, but larger than the speed cro sheen type thread..... i think??? :blush

Yes, fingering is thinner than sport weight. You can use sock yarn in patterns that call for fingering weight; they are pretty much the same.
