I second my love for that scrubby. I've had my for 2 years now and its held up great using acrylic worsted weight yarn. I made a long loop to hang it in my shower and it has held up GREAT!!! It works up really fast too.

i have the link to the spiral scrubbie that i make. I only make them in cotton because the fuzz comes off on the dishes. and they can be washed in hot water in the washing machine with towels and bleached. I also make mine using the little bits of cotton yarn tied together. the knots can be hidden in the middle of the scrubbies.

I've wanted to make these for such a long time. But I can't seem to figure out how to end them/spiral them when done. Any suggestions?

i crochet the bias ends together with a single crochet that makes the seam disapear into the spiral pattern and it looks like a little tube. if you have more trouble pm me and maybe we can get together and i will help you work it out.. very easy to do

The instructions for how to weave in, where to weave in, and where to pull is probably where I am unclear and getting confused. And then it says pull through the center. Mine just bunches up instead of spiraling :/

I just made one up to see what I am doing more specifically.
When I am done, both ends "tie off" on the same "side".
So I have 2 long ends, same "Side". (looks correct from the picture in the pattern link)
Then I reattach and join the ends with a slip stitch and weave that end in in.
When joining the ends to slip stitch, i just fold it in half. Do you twist/turn it over here before joining? maybe that's what I am doing wrong?
Then I weave both long ends, one at a time, down it's edge, in and out. (so one goes down the start chain area, and one down the last row area)
So when I am done with both, both long ends are again on the same side as each other. When I pull.. it just bunches up..
I think I followed the instructions exactly, so I am obviously missing something. *sigh*

this is something i've been wanting to make too. So, it turns out alright with acrylic yarn? that is really all i have. I was going to get some cotton, becuase they are on sale at Michaels for 99 cents a skein there.

i don't have a lot of brain power right now, busy cooking breakfast, and i've got a lot to do today! cleaning, gotta go and get my hair cut, DH's hair cut, and DS's hair cut! yep.

I figured it out!! *pats self on back!*:cheer

Here is what helped me. I'm gonna share it just incase it will help anyone else while we wait for the pics.

End of row 21, Don't FINISH OFF.
Fold in half. Foundation chain to current end matched up.
SC across, joining the ends. (You can slip stitch, I liked SC, it disappeared in the spiral better)
Now finish off leaving a long end for weaving.
You have two long ends now. One on each side of what looks like a "cuff".

Take a yarn needle and weave in the long end you left, in and out in fairly small weaves all around the opening. You don't have to be too specific, just try to stay as close to the end as you can.
Go in the direction the spiral will go. You can see that in the rows.
When you have gone all the way around. PULL tight.
Don't fret too much on the first side if it doesn't appear to close tightly when you leave it to go to the other side.
Repeat to other side. Pull tight. Run second side end through center.
Now grab both and pull tight (this will tighten up the first side nicely) and tie together in a knot. Weave in ends as you please.

Hope this helps someone who was as stuck as me lol

I like making spiral scrubbies!!!

In the beginning...I thought they looked intimidating...but...I decided it was time to "slay that dragon"!!!

They are quite easy once you get the knack of it!!!

Once I figured it out last night, I've done 3 in different sizes now.
So far I love the worsted acrylic for dishes. I made a large one I'm gonna try in the shower/bath. We'll see how it does!
