Hi Everyone,

First post but have been lurking for sometime now, love these forums! Now I'm looking for a pattern or patterns for blanket buddies. I have the Bunny Blanket Buddy pattern from Lion Brand but am having trouble with the first part of the pattern and I'm not a beginner either! I really want to make a blanket buddy for my first great-granddaughter. Any help is sure welcome.

Thanks!
KLO

you can put a few lines of the pattern here so we can help you a little better and let us know what part is giving you fits

Here are the first 3 rows of the pattern. What are you having trouble with understanding. Maybe I can help.

Ch 3. Turn. Sc in 2nd ch from hook. Ch 2. Turn.
Row 1 Working in back loop only, sc in first st (inc made), 2 sc in top of turning ch. Turn.
Row 2 Ch 2, working back loop only, sc in same st, sc in next st, 2 sc in top of turning ch – 5 sts. Turn.
Row 3 Ch 2, working in back loop only, sc in same st, sc in next st, ch 1, sk 1 st, sc in next st, 2 sc in top of turning ch – 6 sts + 1 ch space. Turn.

Thank you all. I guess what is throwing me in the Lion Brand pattern is not only turning a Ch but using the bulky yarn. The only yarn I could find to use was Lion Homespun, the pattern called for Velvetspun. I can't see spending 11.98 per skein for a 15 month old to play with! The Homespun is hard to see the back loop, I just have to guess where it is. After this weekend I'll have more time to try to figure it out.

Some of you posted some cute pattern, I'll also look closer at them!

Again thanks!

If you need a chunky weight bernat has one. It is fairly cheap and feels nice too.

Or you could double a ww or triple a baby weight yarn if you want the softness fo baby yarn.

Sorry I took so long getting back to this, I had a wedding this week-end.

Doubling the WW is a good idea, wish I had thought of that earlier! Thanks for the ideas.

I made a bunny blanket buddy over the weekend. It turned out pretty good. I still have to do the face though. The pattern is sorta oddly written. i used doubled ww yarn. (it is a light almost sport weight yarn though, even though it says worsted weight) It's cute.

DS was sad last night, and wanted something of mine to hold, when he went to sleep. DH was home, but I had to go to work for a couple of hours last night. We've already made plans to make more "boy" ones. He is happy with the bunny though........lol even though it is pink........

I used a K hook for the blanket part, but for the head i used a 5mm hook I believe, to make sure it was tight enough for the stuffing.
