Baby Shower Card

:) Hi, I am looking for any help on taking a baby shower invite card and crocheting around it so it can be framed as a keepsake.
All and any idea's are welcome.

I might be way off base here (if that's so, just ignore me) but couldn't you crochet the edging separately and then glue it on the card? Then you wouldn't have to punch holes in the paper and have it rip. I've seen picture frames done like this. Or you could just do some crocheted flowers or leaves or something like that instead of an entire edging. I don't have a pattern suggestion at my fingertips but I'll look tonight.

I'd do what nnt said, make it then glue it.
If you don't want to do that, try these links for ideas. While they're not exactly what you want, they may help. Maybe you could zigzag around the edge and then crochet into the thread.

SIMPLE

Take your card....cut an oval out of the front...(I used a oval scrapbook template) Use a 1/4" hole punch (can get it at michaels, hobby lobby, etc) and evenly space holes around whole card.

Then join with sc, then ch1, sc in next hole, ch 1...repeat all the way around. then you can do whatever edge you want. Use a C hook or something small and baby weight yarn.

I did these with Christmas cards...made a loop on the top and used 'em for tree decorations. I will send you the link.
