View Full Version : Pattern for Interlocking Rings Afghan

I saw a lady working on an interlocking rings afghan in my favorite hangout (AC Moore) 2 wks ago. The store in my area has some nice comfy genuine "fake leather" chairs in a circle in the yarn area. Some people just go sit and do their projects. I was thinking about it for days, I was so intrigued. So I went back and looked at every crochet book there was to no avail. Even found the teacher who does the crochet classes and she couldn't find anything. I have surfed the net and this site, and came up with NOTHING.
The pattern is in strips, like a mile a minute one. I have already made a strip of interlocking rings on my own, which wasn't hard to figure out. But what do I do next? If anyone can steer me to a pattern online or tell me what book to buy, I would appreciate it. Maybe then I coud get some sleep, as I keep dreaming about this darn blanket. I think I, like many of you, am suffering from crochet OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder).
Thanks all!!! :hook

There's supposed to be an adult size rings afghan in this book:

I don't know if there is one on the internet. The pattern is called Baby Rings. It can be made any size by adding more rings and more strips. I have used scraps to make 2 of theses afghans. The pattern comes from an Annie's Attic Leaflet # 2688. It is quite old. Copyright is 1990. Hope this helps.

AA brought that book back into print after so many asked after it. It is a wonderful book. I have made a few of the afghans from it for little ones

WOW! You guys are amazing, and really fast too. Several responses within the hour. I am so glad I joined Crochetville. Everyone is so nice and helpful. The Annie's Attic Baby Blanket Book is probably the closest interlocking ring afghan to the one I saw. On my way to the supermarket, I detoured over to AC Moore to check out their books...they do have some Annie's books there, but alas, not this one. But I spoke with the manager, and he will find out tomorrow if he can order it. If not, I guess I will have to put together an Annie's order (oh my, :cry isn't that sad?) to make the shipping worth my while.
Thanks again!

Hi!
I would also keep an eye on eBay for Annies Attic patterns. They are usually much cheaper than with the steep shipping you will pay at AA.
Good Luck!

I think I know the pattern you are looking for. It is called "Around We Go" and it is in the Annie's Attic book called "Mile-A-Minute Afghans" (Crochet Treasury) series. I used to have the pattern and couldn't find it anywhere either until today. I just ordered it from amazon.com. The pattern is #40 in the book.

I almost started this pattern this weekend when I was looking for a new project...but then I realized how many ends there would be :rofl so if anyone has a goodway to do this without ending the different colors let me know.
