Create a Tag Line for Crochetville!

Take a look up at the top of your browser or at the top of the forum page. You’ll see that right now it just reads:

Crochetville—A Crochet Forum and Message Board

While that certainly describes what Crochetville is on a very basic level, it doesn’t really communicate what we’re all about. We need a really catchy tagline that lets everybody know what Crochetville is all about: the fun, inspiration, friendship, support, and so much more! So put on your thinking caps!

To enter the Crochetville tagline contest, you must be a registered Crochetville member, because you’ll need to post your suggestions in this thread (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50245). We will take suggestions from right now through midnight central time on Friday, May 11, 2007.

Once all suggestions have been received, Donna and I will select our favorite from the list of suggestions. We may submit our own ideas, too, if our creative juices start flowing and we come up with something absolutely amazing! (We won’t be eligible to win a prize, though.)

The Crochetville member whose tagline is chosen may choose one of the following prizes:
- a one-year subscription to Interweave Crochet (http://www.interweavecrochet.com/)magazine
- an item from Crochetville’s Café Press shop (http://www.cafepress.com/crochetville) (up to a value of $22)
- yarn of choice from any online shop (up to a value of $22).
(We'll cover shipping, of course.)

The winner will be announced by 5:00 PM central on Friday, May 18, 2007.

Offer the prize to the very best.. and weight it to come up the most often, but run some of the other taglines too. Just my opinion.

There's been an unexpected delay in our ability (Donna and me) to select a winning entry. Miles (Donna's little boy) is sick, and I'm in the midst of end-of-school-year hectic activities with both my kids. (I forgot to think about what else was going on in my life when we selected our target date to announce the winner.)

I'd like to apologize for he delay in closing out this contest. We've had a very difficult time deciding what to use for our tagline. We've spent a lot of this week agonizingly coming to a final decision. Donna has taken most of the responsibility for this contest, so she should be the one to make the final announcement.

Unfortunately, her computer has been in the shop, and she just got it back today. She's trying to rebuild everything on her system, and she'll make the announcement as soon as she can.

We'll do our best to make the announcement early this weekend, but by early next week at the latest.

Hi, everybody! Goodness, time has flown by! I am so very sorry for the delay in selecting a tagline. It was a much, much more difficult decision than we imagined! We hadn’t forgotten about it, I promise, but every time Amy and I discussed it, we wound up saying we'd sleep on it and talk again. This was an important decision to us because the tagline will represent and identify our community, not only to all of you who already know us, but to people who have no idea what Crochetville is. (Plus, we’ll all be looking at it every day!) We wanted something that really felt right.
