I made this baby afghan for a friend who, as of today, is four days overdue for her baby. Kelly and I decided the baby was waiting for me to get the blanket to her mom so I hurried right over there today to drop it off.:lol The Mom loved it! She was very excited about how soft it was. This is the first time I've made a gift for anyone outside my family so I'm really glad she liked it!

Oh, that's gorgeous! I'm pretty new at crocheting so I haven't worked myself up to multiple colors yet. But I can see that I'll have to. A friend of mine is due with a baby in August, so I may have to try to make something like your beautiful afghan!

I'm glad you all think it's so nice! I can hardly take credit for the colors though. They're straight from the pattern which can be found in this booklet:

That's so beautiful! I agree with Jessi (Crochetaddict033). Feel free to take full credit for how pretty this blanket is. They can make a million patterns and pick out all the colors for each, but in the end it was your good taste that chose this one and your labor that created it. Fabulous!

:c9 How beautiful! Only a labor of love (no pun intented) could produce something so wonderful, no matter how a pattern is written up. It's the thought and effort that you put into it that makes it so special for baby and momma.

Kat isn't it great? What do ya think of that yellow and blue ripple one? One of my friends is having a boy in June and I want to make her one but I'm worried the blanket will be too heavy for that kind of weather. Maybe the last one would be light enough. I have enough Homespun around for almost any of them, lol. Michaels had it on clearance one day for $2 a skein and I grabbed a bunch.

Stacy, I love the ripple one. Perfect for a boy. Must I must confess.... I have never used homespun yarn, so I don't know how heavy and thick it is. I buy my yarn from a lady for 20 cents an ounce, and it is just regular RH yarn. She does carry some baby yarn, but nothing fancy. I am looking forward to trying some though. Everyone talks about how great it is. From looking at the pics, the last pattern will be a more open stitch and may be better for the summer, but I sooo like the blue and yellow ripple:heart.
