I am seeking a bookmark pattern which I first saw as an add in Crochet With Heart October 98 Vol 3 No 4 for a Design Contest. At the bottom of the page (41) it notes it comes from a book called Unique Bookmarks #2625. It is the inset picture of a bookmark done in five colours vertically shaped like a teardrop or possibly even a heart. I have heard the book has been discontinued, was wondering if anyone knows the pattern and where I could obtain it. I may have to try to work it out by the picture. I live in Australia and it isn't that easy to find these patterns here.

Can anyone help?

Lynn:)

Have you already checked to make sure it isn't listed here?

I see that you are a " new neighbor", so I was not sure if you knew about www.crochetpatterncentral.com (http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com) where you can find just about ANY pattern that is available on line. But if this bookmark is only available in a book, then maybe you could find it on e-bay. I found it for sale at Amazon........

Thank you, I have looked through crochetpatterncentral, but to no avail. I didn't really want to buy from amazon and have it physically shipped all the way here, was hoping to download it - I only really want the one pattern.

I was looking at the pattern, it looks like small heart shaped pieces that are made seperately and then linked together. I was thinking of findind a small heart shape ( perhaps a fridgie), work up five of them in various colors of number 10 thread and then simply sewing them together......and perhaps adding fringe from all the colors used on the bottom of the last one.
Here are some fridgie shapes

You could use this one to try and get a more teradrop shape

You could also use something like this and change the colors as you work each pineapple

hope you find something here you can use....:)

I think this is VERY similar to what you want.

In this pattern, each heart is worked individually (so you woud need to change colors on each heart) and then the border is added - you can just leave off the border. Take a look at it - I think it would look exactly like the one you wanted if you left the border off.

Wow, you are all so wonderful! I am sure I will be able to find something amongst all those! I will probably try them all! the one without the border sounds great - I actually have this one, but didn't think as you have done

Great !!

Be sure and post a pic when you finish it - I'd love to see how it turns out.
