I have browsed by a couple times a pattern for a flip flip/sandal padding sock type pattern. I believe it is in someones blog and the sample picture of it is Yellow. At this point I can no longer recall if it is indeed crochet or knit. But i am having a tuff time locating it again. Would any of you happen to know what I am speaking of, and direct me to the site????

Not sure this is what you are looking for, but I found these yellowish socks that look like flip flops......they are knit

You might try going into google , click on images and put something like knit/crochet flipflops in the search field.....see if a photo of what you are talking about comes up.

Have you checked your history or has it been cleared already? This has saved me more than once.
Do you have the current issue of Crochet World, the one with the lions on the front? Have you flipped through it at the store?
It has a yellow pair of flip-flop-sox in it. I can't tell you how many times I've thought I found a pattern on the internet only to actually find it in one of my books or magazines.
No picture but here's the site and a description, towards the bottom of the page:

Empress,
I was just going to reply to you that it couldn't have been from the books or mags, when I realized that I have looked at that mag ( the one in the link) at LEAST 2 times. You just may be right!! I have filled out for the mag subscription......hopefully it will have been in that. Once again you have saved the day!! ((Fingers crossed!!!!))

Well, I am looking for a tiny half a sock that goes on when wearing sandals or flipflops.:lol
The funny thing is I am not that great at knitting, and I don't even KNOW a B & M store to purchase 'sock yarn' LOL:D I just 'got a bug' so to speak 2 days ago that I should make these and give them a try.

One thing to note, usually when you get a magazine subscription it takes them a while to process and send... I would bet you won't get the one pictured if you just subscribed. Might want to look for it locally, if possible, or an individual copy of that edition online somewhere.

Yup, I posted that three posts up. ;)
Dangerouscrochet the pattern calls for Microspun. You can get that at Wal-Mart or Michael's. You should be able to find the magazine at Wal-Mart or one of your book stores.

Empress,
I GOT IT!!! It was the one I had remembered! Thank you for jaring my memory and showing me the way. {{{HUGS!!!}}} Now, I don't have MicroSpun ( I was afraid to buy MORE yarn...didn't want to get caught ) So I am going to give this a whirl in Bernat baby Softee. I will let you know how it works up, and pics.

I had a feeling, especially when you said 'yellow'. Like I said, I've done it so many times I should know better by now. I keep doing it though. LOL
Can't wait to see how it works up in the yarn you have.

It's my pattern and I wanted to help get you started. The pattern starts with the little strip that goes between the toes. The chain that is done next connects the other end of the strip. Sc the few sts across that end. Make another chain section to connect the remaining corner of the strip. This will make a full circle to go around the foot. I wish the magazine had taken a picture showing just the sox to clarify the instructions. I'll be glad to help if you need it.

Thanks Fran.
Can you tell us what size they are? It just said child's small. My daughter is 4 and wears shoe size 8 or 9 depending on the shoe. Will that fit her or that 'small' for slightly older kids?

The smaller size would probably fit her. They are for preschoolers and mid-gradeschool sizes. I made the larger size for my step gd who was nine at the time.

It's against the rules here to share non free patterns.

OK...... You can tell 'summer vacation' is here. So much running around. ugh.
I had finished this on June 1st. TODAY I finally sat down to post the pics I took.... to find out that my kids had deleted the photos off my camera. Oy Vay. So I took a new pic ( Now mind you the foot is not a thing of beauty)
I think the pattern was easy to do.... but like Marnie said it took a few moments for me to just forge ahead and trust the instructions.... and when I did, it worked out just fine!.
I made mine in baby yarn from Bernat ( It is what I had on hand) next time I will make them tighter ( smaller) As it is now, the ones I have made are a bit to big to fit under the sandal ( I have yet to buy flip flops for this summer) But I will be making another pair, as I do have a pair of sandals I love, but they don't treat my feet to well. This sock should def. help.
