I thought it might be fun to do a fall/halloween crochet-along!! I went so far as to ask for a volunteer button maker, and Ladywinter graciously made these (thank you so much! <img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/smile.gif" />):
<img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/shelbyro/pmkhook1.bmp" />
<img border=0 src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v449/shelbyro/pmkhook2.bmp" />
For this "along" feel free to make any halloween and/or fall decor items, and I will make a gallery to post them in for all to see.
There are lots of links to free patterns available, and you can start here:
<a href="http://home.inreach.com/marthac/hallo.html" target="_new">Stargazer's Halloween links</a>
<a href="http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com/directory/halloween.php" target="_new">CPC Halloween links</a>
I hope you'll join me!

Great Jenn--I know, the orange can be shocking compared to more subtle colors. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/wha.gif" />
I pulled out a bunch of freebie patterns that I am gonna make for this, now I have to get some supplies!
Please join us if you want to make something autumn-ish, too!
Antarachik--you can count your pumpkin for this! Maybe you'll make some more of them! <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/bounce012.gif" />

I love this idea!! I want to make those big pumkin bags to place on my porch :D And I want to make halloween sweater jackets (orange and black) for the girls to wear since it's always chilly here (CA) at Halloween time.

Great! The more the merrier (or should I say :scarier"?)! Be sure to post pictures :camera of your projects for the yet-to-be-made gallery, and feel free to use the buttons above.
Unfortunately, I am still in a holding pattern, as I forgot to buy brown yarn when I was at Walmart last night....duh! :bad

I'm in! I wanted to join this one from the beginning, but couldn't find what I wanted to make.....until now. I found the cutiest Spider on Crochet Pattern Central. I'm gonna turn it into a black widow and wear it as a pin. Unfortunately, I have no black yarn! e-gads, I guess I have to go to Walmart. Oh, and I'm gonna make a spider web for the little thing to rest on when not on me. I better get to it----Halloween is right around the corner :bad

I hadn't planned on doing this until I found this pattern (http://www.sarahanns.com/crochetworks/ghost.html) at CPC. Here's some of what I've done so far.

The little black thing is a bat. I've made 4 bats and started a fourth ghost.

Jenn, I'll probably donate them to the library. There's a fish net hanging from the ceiling in the children's room where they'd look really cute.

Finished my pumpkin...pattern came from Marlo (<a href="http://www.marloscrochetcorner.com/stuffed%20pumpkin.html" target="_blank">Stuffed Pumpkin</a>). I used Red Heart in an orange color, and a green called Green Sage or medium sage (too lazy to get up and look...lol)
Yay!

I'm making the same pumpkin, Jenn! :) (www.marloscrochetcorner.c...pkin.html) (http://www.marloscrochetcorner.com/stuffed%20pumpkin.html))
I am using Aunt Lydia's craft yarn in Pumpkin and Christmas Green. I am using an I hook, but the yarn is breaking apart. :( One question... I'm having trouble with the slip stitches. I have to be really careful or I lose stitches. Has anyone else who has tried this pattern run into that problem? I'm not giving up, though, just counting carefully!! :lol

October 6, 2004, 04:02 AM
Thanks :)
I only had a problem with the stitches, bc I attempted to do the pattern with a head cold...my head was too foggy to comprehend what I was doing, and I had to frog once or twice...blah. lol

I finally finished my pumpkin! :D That little pain in the tushie!!!!! :evil I used the Marlo's Crochet Corner pattern and found the slip stitches very hard to deal with. Probably because I was using Aunt Lydia's craft yarn and that just plain stinks. :bad It kept breaking on me. Now I know why it was on clearance!!!! Oh well. :) It's done. And here it is!!!

I'll be making more, too, this time with Red Heart and Mainstays yarn. I learned my lesson!!! :lol

Thanks, Rebeccca!!! :D I also learned that the little guy is soft and squishy. I made it for my husband and I tossed him at him as soon as I was done sewing it - hitting him in the head - which prompted him to throw it right back and it nailed me as well. hehehe. I told him, only soft fluffy gifts for you!!!!! :lol

Paisley,
I can't get the link to work. It looks like there is a picture in the message too, but, all there is a little box where it should be.
I did go to your yahoo photo album, and saw some of the Halloween/fall things you made. You did a great job on the pumpkins. I really like your candy corn guy, he is really cute!! :cheer2

Dang!! My work computer is acting up (it's not showing any photos right now on this board) :( So I thought I would give it a try and I thought it was just me. I think it's because I use Yahoo photos and I tried to do a link to just the photo.
Here's the exact link of the pumpkin:

Thanks Luv2craft!! :D That candy corn huggy is a free pattern I found through MarthaC's site. That little guy is going to my goddaughter, if she'll ever be home long enough for me to go see her!!! She's not even 3 and she has a more active life than me!! hehehe :lol

Such great projects and photos, everyone! I love them! The library one is wonderful. One of my favorite places combined with my favorite hobby and holiday. hee hee :)
Anyone remember the old nursery rhyme about "five little pumpkins?" (for those who think I am nuts, here it is - www.dltk-teach.com/minibo.../felt.htm) (http://www.dltk-teach.com/minibooks/halloween/felt.htm)) It was my favorite as a little girl, so I decided to make my own little set. So it's not a fence, but it's close!!! :lol
