Well, I told y'all that I had started a snuggle in the little star afghan pattern. I just finished it. I wanted to post this for 2 reasons. Not only did I want you to see the snuggle, I also wanted you to see this pattern that I think would be great for the Blanket Brigade (sp?). Here is the link to the pattern:
Star Afghan Pattern (http://www.angelfire.com/va3/heartfeltangels/littlestarafghan.html)
I used a J hook instead and found that if you did the whole 15 rows, it would measure approx. 26". That puts it almost the size wanted for the blankets. Just add a row or 2. This pattern works up very fast.

That's beautiful, I tried that pattern and got stuck, so I found another sunburst pattern and am working that up for an afghan for my brother's birthday. It's coming out rather pretty I think. Your snuggly is adorable, i may have to try that pattern again.

Hey Rori, try it again. I found a few quirks in the beginning so I changed them. It says to chain 7 and then do some stuff I could not get to work out, so I chained 4 & joined w/slip stitch. Then, it says to dc in the 2 ch sp, but it had told you to chain 3 on the row before. I just crocheted in the sp & didn't worry about how many chains it had. The rest was a breeze.

XOXO

I did about three little dishcloths with this pattern and never noticed this little slip up until I started the baby blanket in this pattern yesterday. I did the same thing - just crocheted into the space and went on.

I'm using a pretty pastel verigated with solid matching stripes every so often. I'm about a skein into it now, and you're right - it works up fast! I bought 8 50g skeins altogether and I think thats about 4-5 to many! :)

Thank you for letting us (me) in on the corrections. I tried this and it was kinda "wompy" and I haven't had the time to play around with it!

I have to admit I wasn't sure about it at first, but after seeing the link to the red, white and blue one that you posted (in the Blankey Brigade topic), I really like it. And it has so many combination possibilities! :cheer

Cute! Love those colors!

I think I ended up using 4 of those balls we bought that day for the one I made Anna so I'd say you have enough to make either two baby blankets, or you could just keep goin' and make it bigger lol. I stuck with the h hook the pattern called for, but just kept going till it measured around 36" or so.

I'm making one up in some yarn I have that I'm not using for anything else. I did the center a bit different so there wouldn't be a hole and it's looking really good.

I just started on one yesterday and I really hate that hole in the middle...Can you say what you did to not have a hole? :)

That came out really good, love the colors! :clap

I just started one in a variegated baby yarn. I had a hard time getting it started, but after reading the tips here it all came together, I am on row 6 now and it is starting to look really cute =) It is working up really fast too. I agree it would make a nice charity pattern.

I have had troubles with this pattern myself and am glad someone figured out it was with the pattern and not me! :lol In any case, I hate holes also so I'm thinking of trying this pattern with The Magic Adjustable Ring (http://www.crochetme.com/Dec_Jan_0405/reads_round.html) from the Crochet Me site that she uses on her bath pouf. Don't see why it wouldn't work. :think

Today, I made this Star pattern in Rainbow colours. I did the centre 4 rows in red, them did one row of each colour though orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. I then repeated one row of each colour.
It is still only cushion sized so I will repeat each colour again.
It reminds me of a beautiful silk crocheted star shaped dressing table cover my Grandmother:grandma made, possibly about 100yrs ago. I still have it, stored away somewhere.
I have not made it for anyone in particular, but my mum will probably like the brightness of it. She can have it over the back of her chair to brighten her room at the Resthome.

The method of starting using a ring of yarn can also be done by winding the yarn around your fingers about 3 tiimes and crocheting over that.
Have fun.
