I desperately want this afghan pattern book that is on ebay. It doesn't list the title but it does say that it is a softcover leisure arts book with 144 pages. The one pattern that stands out in my mind is a filet afghan with cats done in a cream color. Any help in locating the name of this would be great! To win it now, I would have to sell my blood!!!

A link or something would help. Is it baby blankets or adult afghans?
What?

If this is the auction, I've seen it come up before ... and for a lot less money. So if you can be patient ....
However, if you're truly dying to get the cat filet pattern, you could probably design it yourself by looking at that one pillow photo in the eBay auction.

Only because I had some time to look through eBay. Next time a lot more info would be helpful. ;)
I'm sure someone will know the name of the book. Right now I have to go make lunch for my daughter.

Look on ETSY too... and AMAZON.com....
Ebay tends to sometimes really really inflate the real price something ought to be... all it takes is for a couple of people to start "fighting" over it. How come that NEVER happens to the stuff I've tried selling there???

I never understand why people do that to themselves! Here is the book (http://www.amazon.com/Year-Afghans-1996/dp/1574860496). I found it on amazon for $15 US dollars.

That one is posted over and over on Ebay. Just look for another listing for it. Try using "crochet afghan book" It'll pull up a lot of listings for you.

When I am wanting something on ebay I always wait for the last 40 seconds and snipe. though i have spent £25 on a complete set of crochet hooks by fighting rather than sniping. some one bought 25g of wool from me once for £24 I nearly fainted dead away. there was a fight over it. It started at 99p I was so embarrased but the woman who bought it needed the particular colour for hair on a woven picture. glad you found it much cheaper hugs Sian xx

I think a lot of the sellers don't put the name of the books because they know people would(or should) do a search to see if it could be bought elsewhere. Doesn't seem right somehow.:no All of the pics are put in to suck people right in!:P
I have the book-it is a nice book!:yes

Darn, sorry you bought it already. My local used book store has had that for a long time sitting on the shelf. Maybe $5? I was going to buy it and ship it to you. Looks like I should buy it and make a lot of $$ on EBay. :)

Here is the latest news in my "Quest" for this wonderful book! The seller offered me a second chance to buy the book....for $51! She also told me that one of the other books that I had won wouldn't be available until next week and she apologized for that and also offered to refund the money if I didn't want to wait. I emailed her back and said that would be fine and would she mind telling me the name of the book. Are you ready for this one? I hear from her today...now mind you, I have bought 4 other books from her...she tells me I can have the book for $15.99! STILL not telling me the name of the book! I think from now on, when I see something on ebay that I would like to have OR just HAVE to have, I am coming here first!!! You all have saved me a ton of money!!!

I bet she did! :lol After she finished drooling, she was probably hoping there was an "S" carved on the top of your head (for "sucker") But I suppose you can't blame her -- she's a businesswoman and no one is holding a knife to anyone to bid on these pattern books. Why not take advantage?
There was a pattern book I wanted (but not desperately, fortunately) and it went for about $50. A few days later, the same book was auctioned and I won it for $4.99.
No surprise that you can get bargains on eBay but you can also get stiffed!

I've bought from her in the past and have been pleased with communication and quick shipment.
On the other hand, I'm annoyed with another eBay seller. I paid for the item two days ago and didn't hear squat so I emailed. She replied that she only emails if there's a problem and "did I have a problem?" Yes I had a problem, because I insist upon acknowledgement of payment and a quick email to tell me the item is in the mail. I don't think that's asking too much.

I am a long time EBay seller and this seller's actions are questionable at best. The fact that she won't tell you the name of the book is highly suspicious to me ... it sounds like she is actively searching on her own to get it dirt cheap and then turn around to resell it to you. in other words, she isn't talking about an item already in her possession ... so she can't specify the name yet!
Beware of any seller who doesn't offer name, print date, specific age damage if any, etc.

Well she finally did reply to my email with the name of the book. Turns out all my Crochetville Buddies were right! She confirmed that it is indeed A Year of Afghans 1996. So once again THANK YOU for coming thru for me on this one :clap
I am sort of new to the whole ebay thing so it's hard for me to know the good from the bad. And according to others, she is a good seller. Yep, I thought the same thing about her having to "get" the one item! How can you not know if you have it or not? Oh well....

That is a great book with a bunch of nice patterns.
I am a big time sucker for ebay. I was looking for this cake decorating book that was discontinued and ended up paying $95 for it on ebay. Too bad I haven't used it yet, it's just sitting there collecting dust. :eek

The way to do well as a buyer on eBay is to snipe.
The way to do well as a seller on eBay is to hope for a bidding war.

As you can see, the seller did come through with the information about the name of the book etc. Since the seller has 100% feedback (and a lot of it), I would not agree that her actions are "questionable at best."
