Hi, everyone! I've been wanting to try out thread, and I finally got a ball of size 10 thread tonight. It's a variegated purple. What I'm wondering is what pattern would you suggest for me to start with? I've never used thread before, so any tips would also be very welcomed!:hook

If you want to practice on something smaller, try the CPC site under the bookmark section.

Freepatterns.com has a few doilies rated beginner (on the 'great gifts' page):
It's a snap 5-hour doily
Pinwheel Treat
Prairie Star
Vanity Fair

Have fun!!

Oh, I didn't think of bookmarks! I looked at a few and found one of a cat that I like. What else can you make out of thread?

Coasters, Pincushions/sachets, of course book markers, Edgings for towels and pillow cases. My favorite is doilies though. Thread is just a medium, so you can actually crochet anything your heart desires. It will just be smaller then when done in yarn.

I am a major threadie so I have a ton of Magic Crochet Mags but if you could find them at borders or somewhere, they are a good resource for learning the basics.

Hope this helps

This Grape Harvest Doily is a nice starter pattern that is very satisfying.
