.. Sill. While cleaning my kitchen this morning, I put a new set of pretties on the window sill. Turns out, they're cute little flower candles, but are just that. It's just the wax candle sitting on the wooden window sill, handmade by hubby... I'm thinkin' he'd KILL me if they even thought about sticking to it & leaving proof! :lol
SO, I decided I need a window sill runner, or scarf, or sash or... well you get the idea. I did a lit'l searching, went thru the patterns on CPC & I can't find anything quite like what I want. I'm willing to piece together multiple patterns if needed cuz I did wine & grapes as the theme in there & I'd kinda like it to match. Guessing thread would prob'ly be best. Maybe something with a straight edge for the backside & then I'll just add some grapes or something to hang over from the front? And oh, it's 56" long by 4½" wide. Does anyone know where I can look? Anyone wanna design one? :lol I'm not asking too much am I? :blush
Thanks for any help, I sure would appreciate it!! :hug

My advice is to go back to CPC and look again. You might have to piece or redesign something.

Runners:

Doilies (there are square ones):

Placemats:

Dresser scarfs:

Tablecloths:

Neck scarfs to resize and retool:

Alter scarfs/laces:

A wide edging (even if you widen yourself) would work. Or edge a piece of fabric:

Grapes doily:

Grapes filet:

The possiblities are endless when you think outside of the box. ;)

Make yourself a bowl of grapes when you're done with your window:

And a grapes window shade (or fan) pull:

I'd try looking at patterns for motifs & make a runner using them. I saw lots of free motif patterns on the web. You can whip up say five or six & sew them together. Good luck

As always, Empress had a wealth of ideas. I didn't check to see if this link was among them, but it's a beautiful pattern: http://www.countryvillagemall.com/classic-pineapple-mantel.shtml

It's not free, but it's very reasonable.
