Help!

Red Heart Classic had a ripple pattern on their ball bands in the late 80's / early 90's. I've made several of these years ago, and would like to make another one. However, I had a copy of the ball band, but I can't locate it ANYWHERE.

It had different count ridges (i.e., 3, 5, 7, 9, & 11). I've checked online, and can't seem to locate it.

Does anyone know where I might find a copy of this?

Thanks!

That's pretty cool. I don't think I've seen one like it.

I am sorry, I can't find the pattern either......but I don't think it would be too difficult to figure out.....the hardest part would be the starting chain.....once you set up the ripples randomly (ie 3, 5,7 ,9 stitches etc between the inc and the dec) just follow that pattern. Make a VERY long chain.....(ripples will shrink in width once you start "rippling" them! HA HA!:lol ) and then just follow the pattren that you set up!.........if there is any left over chain at the end, you can just snip that off and tighten it up a bit............snip 2 or 3 stitches away from your work and then pull out the chains (backwards ) to get to the new END point. Does that make sense to you? I CAN"T be the ONLY one here who does something like that.....perhaps someone else could explain it better, or even find an explination on line for this. You could make a tiny test piece of this to try it out.....make a chain of say 8 stitches.....work 5 scs in them and then try to get rid of the extra 3 chain stitches you have ....snip them off or untangle them until you get down to a foundation chain of 5 chains..This saves a TON of headaches when I am trying a new pattern and I am having trouble deciding how long my foundation chain has to be.....no more FROGGING! Here is another site that could help you as well......
http://pumamouse.com/crochetrippleformula.html

On a side note, I have been searching for another type of ripple pattern.......it is more of a ripple/shell pattern instead of all pointy ripples, there is a pointy one, then a more rounded one, a pointy one then a more rounded one etc. Has ANYONE seen this pattern anywhere?

Sorry for the thread hijack JazzRizz, if you do not want me to post this here, PM me and I will remove it and start my own thread.....

I would say get out the one you have, get a note book and write off the pattern from the finished one. It shouldn't be too difficult. As long as you mark off the stitches as you write them down.

Good luck!

Wow, I know I'm in trouble if Empress has seen it.

I know I could reconstruct it . . . I was just hoping someone might have an old ball band laying around that they weren't using.

This is a pretty big afghan, and the chain is pretty long. It's absolutely gorgeous worked in a single color or in varigated too. I've made this afghan both ways, in addition to the striped version I attached.

I'll keep looking here at thome, and keep my eyes open for the pattern on the net somewhere. . .

Thanks to everyone that took the time to look for me.
