I made this for a swap on another board. I used size 10 thread to enclose a retractable tape measure and used jewelry clasps to attach the scissors and the tape measure back around the chatelaine. That way the items can be taken off if need be.
The beads are actually Christmas bead garland and I used a garland pattern out of one of my Leisure Arts books for it.

I made some other items for the swap but the pic isn't too detailed.
Her fav color is blue, so that's why I chose that color. She liked it, and so I was happy! :yes

Did you use a pattern or could give directions for this, pretty please? I've been eyeing a few different ones out there and I want to make myself one so bad. :D

That came out great! I am ALWAYS misplacing this or that while I am crocheting, so to have everything handy like this is just what I need! I have had the Chatelaine pattern from freepatterns.com (5th row down)

on my "To Do" list, but I just never got around to making it yet.....this is very inspiring! Thanks for sharing!

On the tape measure cover, I made two circles using shell stitches. I just added rounds until it was big enough to cover the plastic on the tape measure, then sc them together.
The garland pattern I got from Leisure Arts Crochet Collection from 1994. It has a flag afghan picture on the front.

Thanks everyone for the kind words on my work!
