I'd really love to find a carpet bag or duffle bag pattern. Either felted or not. If it's not a free pattern, I'd prefer it to be a single rather than a book. ;)

I've looked at crochetpatterncentral.com and browsed google and a few other sites. I can't find anything crocheted that large (that's not mesh or ridiculously slouchy)... think overnight bag! :D

Thanks for any help!

How about making a chain the length around you want it, then using either a sc or hdc to make it the length of the bag you want? You would have to come up with something for the ends...perhaps a tight granny square on each end? Then join the ends and use buttons perhaps as a closure? I'm not good with sewing in zippers! :lol

OK...that does it...I have to go run my reports now! :hook Darn job interfering!! :lol

If you want to felt one, just make it a lot larger than you want it to end up, both length and height, and felt away.

Thanks, guys. You're right, I may have to design my own. :) I just need to work it out in my head (and on paper) first, since I want something fairly structured. I think I'll gather some pics of bags I like and try to take them apart visually so I'll know what shapes I'd need. ;)

If you didn't want to make a felted bag, you could just make two crocheted pieces for each side and the bottom to make the bag sturdier. Good luck on your designs! :)
