I have 12oz of fingering weight yarn that I bought for a cardigan pattern. I UFO'd the project because it was taking too long. I started looking at other patterns using this type of yarn, but so far all I can find are baby items. What else can you use fingering weight yarn for? Can it be used in place of thread?

I double it up and use it for regular yarn, depending on what I am making.. I have a ton right now, so i use it for grannysquares for swaps or for baby hats. i found a really cute pattern (free yay!!) at wal-mart for newborn hats using fingering yarn.

You could make some socks. It may be comparable to #3 Crochet thread but not anything smaller than that.:)

Thanks for ideas. I did an exhaustive Google search last night and came up with some ideas for a design. I'm going to play with the gauge and colors and see what I come up with.
