HI I am new to all this. I am trying to find a doll that I had when I was young. My mom made it for me and I am trying to find the pattern so I can make it for my twin girls. It might also be called a church baby? Any help would be great. I am excited to find this site. Thank you again. Britt

There is someone on Etsy that sells a pattern for a Monster Blankie, has a monster attached to the blanket. Maybe a doll pattern could be used instead. You could also make cradle purse such as those that were tested for Navymomx2

I am new so I am not sure what Etsy is or what a cradle purse is. Thank you for your quick reply.britt

i made something like that back in the '70's. is that what you mean? if so, i'll try and find the pattern. i remember they were made with worsted wt yarn and the little plastic head and hands. one of the baby's hands held a bottle. the arms and legs were attached to the blanket and you could put your fingers in the head, arms and legs so that the baby could be manipulated like a puppet.

Here's another pattern link for a Baby in the Blanket doll/toy:

You can also look for pattern books by Jessie Abularach on eBay or elsewhere - some of her books have baby in blanket doll pattern(s) in them but right now I don't remember specifically which book(s) they're in. I know that she definitely made one that was a puppet.

I still have mine from when I was a kid!!! If you find this pattern I would love to have the original. I made one up once by counting the st and guessing on the parts I couldn't tell on so a pattern would be excellent!

There is also a pattern book called "Doll Delights In Crochet" by Eileen Schreuer, published by Plaid in 1981, that has Baby in Blanket pattern(s). You can see the cover of it at either of these eBay auctions:
