My dd is in love with this (http://www.gymboree.com/shop/dept_item.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524445966887&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374306231396&bmUID=1186811306028&productSizeSelected=0)shrug from Gymboree but she really dislikes the yarn it is made from, it is a course coton, and she wants to know if I can make something similar. Would it be difficult? Are there any patterns out there that are similar or at least a good flower motif that I could build around?
All help is appreciated.
Thanks!

If you look at the zoom picture...it looks like it may be done in motifs something like...
http://www.dianelangan.com/CrochetPatternFiles/websafenames/cotshrug.html
I would make the motifs...large enough for 2 on each side of the front and 4 on the back. The sleeves look to be 5 motifs long and made rectangular. Then add a fancy shell pattern around the edges and make it 2 rows for the ties.

Try this pattern. http://www.burdamode.com/Burda_Children,1270777-1000019-1462122-1462133-1462311,enEN.html
Back issues are available, this is from 2/07, I got one & I think it was like $15 including shipping.

That is a beautiful pattern shelbyolivia thanks! I might have to break down and get that one. I find it difficult to find nice little girls patterns. They either seem to be for toddlers or teens. Misssmaggie that pattern is perfect for one of my dd's school outfits. Thanks for the replies!

This pattern might be helpful: http://www.craftown.com/crochet/pat31.htm This is a Queen Anne's Lace pattern. The motif is similar. Good luck! It's a very cute shrug. I may try to figure one out for my daughter. :U

I will be watching this thread avidly as I would love to make something like this for my daughter too. If you find a pattern, I would be very interested in what you find!
