Hiya,

I am making rag rugs again and was wondering if there was a pattern, for a square that is done in single crochet, but starts in the centre?

I know there are granny squares, and solid double crochet squares, but I don't know that I have ever come across a single crochet centre start one. :think

Has anyone else?

Check out the square that this vintage cardigan pattern uses. It is all single crochet. Maybe you can get some ideas from it:

Thanks for finding that. With that and the trial I started last night I think I may have worked out a workable rag rug sc square. I think the corners will have to be different than the pattern (3sc) - perhaps "sc, ch 2, sc" just so I have a bigger space to work in, and the starting point probably cant be the same as the pattern - there just won't be enough room....time to experiment I think.
