Right now toys would probably be great. But if enough people want to help we could do a comfortghan. And if anyone can make something to sell somewhere (One option is on ebay through missionfish.com) that would be great. Money is what is needed most right now.
So please vote! And then post to let me know who can help with what. (The pole is so that I can see numbers)Results (total votes = 10):

If you post and leave your name with the option you chose, I'd know who is able to help. The pole is so that I can have numbers. Thanks!

Amber I posted on your poll it would only allow me to chose 1 thing.

Ambersafghans
January 3rd, 2005, 09:56 PM
Thanks. It only lets you choose one, so I guess for someone who wants to choose more than one, you should choose number four. I'd love to help what can I do?
But that's okay.

I posted that I could help with a comfort ghan. But I want to try making toys too. If nothing else, I can make crochet balls. But I want to try the teddy bears and maybe the lamb.

Im going to register with missionfish, sell some of my crochet items and donate 100% of the profit to help with the tsunami disaster relief - will most likely choose the save the children organization to donate to.

Im having trouble with listing through missionfish :th It keeps giving me an internal error page.

**Ok, opened the page through IE browser instead of Mozilla browser and got it to work. Now it's pending decision.

Okay at this point I think this is where we stand. Please let me know if you want your name on this list, or if it is on and you don't want it.

I know there were others, I just can't remember who you are.
How about looking into *THE YARN STASH* and letting us know what amount and colors you have in maybe Red Heart Or Caron? Something knitting worsted?

Amber, both auctions are up - one for the childrens fund and one for unicef. The infants sweater jacket for the unicef fund has 2 bids currently with it ending tomorrow night. I changed my user id to luv*2*crochet on ebay. These sweater jackets normally do very well on ebay - the infant scarf and cap has no bids at the moment but Im keeping my fingers crossed :)

Thanks!
Mommachelle, maybe I should try a sweater set to sell. I actually already have one on my site. I'll check that out.
Okay Alisha, have a good trip! Oh Coralie, you have simply soft? If you go to Caron.com you can find patterns for their yarns. There is one that is actually for cuddle soft, but I made it with simply soft and another with cuddle soft and they are so cute! And I got permission to sell them as long as I'm not selling the pattern! (Someone was selling it on ebay for 5) Just thought I'd let you know.

January 8th, 2005, 06:28 PM
No no no! You may not change your username! :wink I have no problem with your username here :) I changed it at ebay from mgrissam to luv*2*crochet because I have been an ebay member for like 4 years and I started luv 2 crochet about 2 years ago so I finally changed my ebay userid to represent my business better. But no, your username here is fine! :hug

Oh I was going to say, the infant sweater jacket set (with cap) is now at $20.50 with 10 hrs left to go. The scarf set still has no bids for the save the children fund - if it ends with no bids I will probably just donate the money myself. But there's still 21 hours left on it so there's still hope :)

Anyone else reading this - those who have my sweater jacket patterns I have absolutely no problems with you selling the finished item on ebay if you were thinking you wanted to do that.

MommaChelle,
could you give me a link to your auctions? I don't know if I will be able to find them. And what pattern did you use?
Thanks!

My auctions are Here (http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQgotopageZ1QQsassZluvQ2a2Q2acrochetQQsorecords perpageZ25QQsosortpropertyZ1) and for the sweater jacket, I used my girls sweater jacket pattern (the circle sweater) but in a 12 month size. For the cap and scarf set I used my granny skull cap pattern, with a double crochet scarf.

Amber, Luv 2 Crochet (http://www.luv2crochet.com) under patterns for sale. It's the childs (size 3/4) sweater jacket pattern modified with a different yarn type and different hook size to get a size 12 month sweater jacket.

I'd be happy to help, in fact I'd love to, altho, I'm not sure what I can do... I said I'd help with a comfort ghan.. does that mean make squares? I can do that!! But anything I can do, I'll do!! (just remember, I havent been crocheting long.. about 6 months..lol)

Ambersafghans
January 12th, 2005, 07:44 PM
Hi. Yes that means crocheting squares, and we'll need someone eventually to put them together. I'm glad you want to help! We've just got to figure things out and get them started. Alisha (luv2crochet) I don't think is back yet, but I guess we should get yarn type and color picked out for a comfortghan now. Anyone who is helping have a problem with Red Heart Super Savor? Any color ideas?
I'm quite preocupied with a lot of other things, so I"m afraid I'm not doing a good job of any organization. I'll be away Friday and Saturday as well. THanks all that are helping!

Can anyone tell me a little more about MissionFish? I think it's such a great idea, and a perfect way to use my craft to help whoever!

MommaChelle
January 15th, 2005, 07:42 PM
You sign up with missionfish through ebay pages.ebay.com/tsunamirelief/ (http://pages.ebay.com/tsunamirelief/) . Then you list your item through missionfish and it shows up in your ebay listings but includes the missionfish guarantee that the money will be donated like it says it will. If you dont donate the money from the auction selling, it will deduct it from your bank (credit card) after 2 weeks I think it was.

Here's a pic of some toys I made. I just made a shape and did some different stitching on the same shape. The pattern is on my blog, it's super easy, and it's great practice stitching faces.

Glad you're back Alisha!
How was your trip? I'm submitting the links to your pictures, (again) and hope to see them soon.
If people are still interested in making a comfortghan, lets pick colors and get going. We'll also need someone to attach squares.

I totally hate sewing things together :U Sorry but it's like tucking in ends to me it's such a pain:thumbsdown .

Let's get some suggestions on colors then we can get an idea how many still want to do this.

I love pink and brown together.

I have lots of Red Heart skeins I can use. Most any color and some of the varigated ones...Polo, Mexicana, Monet, Watercolor and others I can't remember off hand.

Ambersafghans
January 27th, 2005, 12:39 AM
Okay then here's an idea. Use up all those skeins of Red heart laying around and make up maybe 8' squares? Any colors you have We can then piece them together into however many colorfull afghans we can make.

I'll get started making 8" squares. That is what you want right? 8 inch squares?

Barbara

Ambersafghans
January 27th, 2005, 05:42 PM
lol. I said 8 foot didn't I? :) Yes, 8 inches!
We may be doing a major (and I mean really really major) furniter/room shuffling here really soon. So things may get a bit hectic.
Anyoone else making squares?

February 5th, 2005, 11:50 AM
So is anyone making squares here? I'm really doing a lousy job at organizing this, which I knew is what would happen at this time which is why I hesitated. But anyway. If no one is working on it now then maybe we should just focus on regular charities? I know there is always plenty to do so that's fine if you want to do that.
