Over the past few months, I have made a few lapghans or "laprobes" not really knowing who I was going to give them too. Finally, yesterday I called a retirement home and they said they would love to have them. So, I will be taking mine and hopefully some from my 2 crochet groups here in Nashville to them on Wednesday.

Same Here! It's a great feeling to know your items are needed, loved and appreciated!
I'm a "KnitWit"...LOL!...love that name! I crochet with a local group of other KnitWit women who crochet and/or knit for many organizations within (and some outside of) our county.
There's many organizations to call:
Senior Centers
Nursing Homes
Hospitals
Abuse Center
Headstart
Hats for the Homeless
Visiting nurse
Local churches
Vets

We've donated to all of the above and now get yarn donations and requests for certain items. For example, the vets hospital has requested at least 10 Red/White/Blue afghans/lapghans.
