Is there such a thing as a bead size chart? I am new to beads and I buy my beads at Walmart so I need help when it comes to buying them.I am crocheting with thread ( the thread that doilies are made of) size 20 I think. Thanks in advance.

thanks, I was looking for something that would tell me what size an E bead is and what type of thread/yarn is used with it. I have a couple of tubes of E beads and don't know what I can do with them. Please keep in mind I am new to this bead thing and have only made 1 thing out of beads and that was a keychain that was suppose to be spiral but somewhere in the middle it grew a mind of its own and went straight. Is there such a chart?

An 'E' bead could be 5/0 or 6/0 seed bead ~ I use them with the thicker cotton (8) and baby yarn also. :hook They look great crocheted into a keychain, or cell phone pouch. Hope this helps.
This chart might help also : http://www.beadnook.com/BeadSizeCharts.html

thanks for the chart, as a beginner, how would you know what type of bead to use with what type of yarn or thread? Or is it a personal prefernce thing? Thanks again for the charts.

I usually just go by 'does the yarn fit thru the hole in the bead' ~ if it does and the beads go with the yarn and pattern I am doing ~ then I go for it. Main thing is 'have fun'. :yay

scroll down a little. Maybe?

I think with Size 10, E beads are the easiest to string on. I've used those.
