Curling doily? Help!

I'm making my first real doily...have made some coasters, and have had this problem slightly (curling), but not as much as with this doily. Is it me?? Or do they naturally "curl"?? Will that go away once its been washed/blocked?
Do you stiffen doilies and coasters, or is that just for snowflakes and the like?

I LOVE doing thread crochet tho! Its a great break from regular yarn and afghans,scarves,etc!

I'm not sure why your doily is curling, but when you are done, dunk in in some warm water, stretch and shape it how you want on a thick towel, then spray it with spray starch really well. Push the starch into the doily and it should keep its shape nicely.
